Within a year of finishing the course I was selling at local exhibitions. Three years on, I take bulk orders for wedding decor and I have trained two other women in my colony to work with me. None of that felt possible when I walked in.

Sir was patient in a way I had not experienced in any classroom before. He made me sing badly in front of others until it stopped frightening me. I still use the warm-up he taught me, every single morning, ten years later.

I was in class five and terrified of numbers. The abacus made them visual, almost like a game. I cleared all the levels and my school marks changed completely. Now I help my younger cousins with their tables.
